Narrative Vessel by Patricia Gawle
OPTION #1 - Workshop 2018
"Creating Narrative thru Totem"
Spend the week exploring the "story" you want to tell thru your work. Patricia uses a modified coil building process which limits the amount of wedging and hand and arm strength needed, used in the traditional Mexican sculptures found in the ancient ruins. You will spend your days working and playing in clay at your own levels, applying ancient techniques and creativity rather than technology to the challenge. Patricia will demonstrate the various finishing techniques she uses in her work, including: underglazes, glazes, mixed-media and acrylic / cold finishes.
In Puerto Vallarta Session: Patricia will schedule an optional day adventure to the mountain town of El Tuito - where you will see first hand where the local clay comes from. In your free time, you may want to work on an ART JOURNAL recording your impressions as material for new work.
Cost for this 4-Day Art Adventure Workshop is $450 usd, includes instruction, clay, firing and most studio supplies (please bring your favorite tools). Optional trip to El Tuito $50 usd. Accommodations not included in price.
