Patricia Gawle's Life & Work...
Patricia Gawle

Patricia Gawle considers herself a student of the universe - an insatiable explorer of it's wonders and peoples, a painter of it's stories.

"I am ever so grateful for the gift of artistic vision and the opportunities and the people that I have been blessed with having pass through my life.  It is my greatest joy to pass on their wisdom and lessons, to create beauty and share it - in a thousand different ways.

As a BFA, Fine Arts graduate of the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, Pat's spirit of adventure originally brought her to Mexico in the mid 1980's.  With only her backpack and a few hundred dollars, she fell in love with the country and it's people and managed to stay five years.  Pat learned to speak Spanish and eventually settled in Mexico City, where she taught K-5th grade art at the Edron Academy, among other endeavors.  In 1990, Pat returned to the United States and Sarasota, FL where she opened The Plum Door Art Studio & Gallery in the Towles Court Artist Colony.  After 8 successful years of running a gallery, teaching adult art classes, building an extensive clientele for her custom hand-painted tile murals, she felt it was time to move on to a new adventure.

"Choose your Life", this is my creed...  I have always wanted to return to Mexico... It is with great excitement that I returned to live here, with purpose - to begin this fantastic and inspired journey teaching others how art can open doors.  It requires no common language.  It invites all.
